Highly Recommend - Great book!!

I could not believe how amazing this book was. I personally am going through the same situation and as I read page by page I felt I was living a parallel life with the author! When things got foggy for me in my own life, seeing that someone else went through the same situation helped me through. I had two other people close to me also read this book to help them understand better what I was going through. I am actually looking forward to reading this again. The book shows true strength and courage to pull yourself out of a tough situation and I praise the author for sharing her story! Anyone going through a similar situation should read this book!!

Ouch!

I was on a pity party looking for yet another read on alcoholism and addiction, when I stumbled across a blog by the author.
I have read about co-dependency and boundaries, but am always relating it to how to help him!!
Glad to read some of the things I am not proud of aren't just me on the crazy train of catching him (or prove to myself that I am sane), but true co-dependent characteristics. I cheered the author on when she took the steps it took to finally be free! May not have done it textbook style but was real. Will read again.

This book was an amazing opportunity to learn through Amanda's life

This book was an amazing opportunity to learn through Amanda's life, how hard beingin love with an addict is and how important it is to love yourself and somehow find the strength to stop trying to save someone other than yourself. It was honest and raw and real. I highly recommend it to anyone needing to begin the journey of self care through disconnecting with the need to save someone who isn't saving themself. It is a rough road but very necessary for one's survival.
