Compared to many other Corporate Finance books I enjoy this one for a structure of the presented material , clear explanations supported by real examples, concept checks , odd numbers answers (provided at the end of the textbook) to the exercises. Definitely it gives me a guidance to handle many everyday cases. In addition , for me truly helpful is huge information on the textbook"s website.
This one is the first Corporate F. book I used to study without feelings of something boring , abstract , overloaded by awesome math.

It made me want to travel so bad, I can't focus at work

I stumbled across this book by accident in my father's bookshelf, and started reading it on a rather uneventful Sunday afternoon. I have always been interested in sailing, but this book really lit a fire under me to go cruising. I've since re-read this book and am still planning my dream cruise to the south pacific. The book talks about the Cornell family (parents and 2 young kids) spending 3 years sailing in the pacific. their story of visiting Pitcairn's Island forced me to reread Mutiny on the Bounty. It is a delightful read, and makes me wish my parents had taken me on a long sailing journey as a child. By the way, Gwenda is married to Jimmy Cornell, who has written a number of cruising books. Pacific Odyssey is a great read, but beware, you may not be able to get rid of the cruising bug. I know I haven't.

Her husband dreamed of sailing off to see the world so when he decided to do it, she went with him. They took their two children ages 7 and 9 (or thereabouts) and spent six years afloat; three of them in the Pacific. Her observations are well-written and provide perspective on what many of us imagine as an idyllic lifestyle. Throughout she presents a positive view while adding bits of reality: making friends while on the go and having to say goodbye; worrying about the safety of their possessions when they leave the boat; the challenges of finding fresh fruit and vegetables.

A people person, she writes about their interactions rather than the technical aspects. Not as lurid as I'd hoped, but more updated than Captain Cook's accounts. She's enough of an anthropologist that one can look up the traditional dances she names on Youtube.

In the end, the difficulties of raising children entering puberty, especially, it seemed, the daughter, led them landward.

Christmas Gift for my daughter

My daughter loves to draw people, usually in the anime style. She comes up with some amazing looks. I wanted to encourage her to branch out, get excited to draw other creatures and shapes. This book exceeded my expectations. It's easy for her to follow. She's in elementary school now, but will no doubt grow into some of the more complicated material towards the back of the book (computer animation/photoshop stuff) in just another year or two. Right now, she is perfectly happy to sit with the book and draw creature after creature, learning the basic shapes and patterns, and then tweaking them to fit her own aesthetic. She's been working on something from it almost daily, and it is now four weeks after Christmas.

This book has helped me improve my animal drawing so much! I went from stick figure puppies to chibi furry hamsters! Move over Hamtaro these chibi animals, neko's and some mythical creatures are so cute, AND EASY to draw!! As if drawing weren't enough it gives a digital coloring tutorial more to the back of the book! It's a very sturdy well made book the pages hold well and can stand the unexpected rough usage we artists sometimes have on our books.

4 Stars: "This tale is set in the fictional castle Montebello somewhere in Europe around 1940, when war breaks out. The castle is seized by the Imperial Army, headed by Prince Mefist who decides to use Montebello because of its strategic location. Prince Mefist soon demands the younger nuns for the officers' bordello and forces Therese (Mother Superior Therese) to choose between giving in to his demands or he will seize women from the local village. Therese resigns to the inevitable and assumes her new position of Madam, thus ensuring her continued support of the nuns. Though soon enough Therese finds she is falling under the spell of the Prince. You will need to keep an open mind when reading this story about a group of nuns who become prostitutes. This book is one of the more controversial erotic novels.� Although at times Prince Mefist and his sister, Wanda, are blas� about what is forced on these nuns, I still found this story kept me interested to discover the fate of these women. It was well written and it displayed emotional depth and character development, as well as the differing viewpoints of the various characters. The author does not intentionally set out to titillate the readers. The [book] is interesting and there are some very HOT moments with some very tasteful scenes. The premise offered here is that this may be a situation born out of the necessity of war; these women simply have no other choice. This book also centers on the story of Therese's sexual awakening through Mefist and his sister, Wanda. With their help Therese is awakened to a life of deep sensuality, but also craving intimacy from the man she loves, Mefist. Prince Mefist is a charismatic, handsome, and debonair character who easily maniapulates but also treats people under his charge with care and kindness. The Prince and the Nun is one of the earlier novels by Jacqueline George and is set in 1940 in the Slovakian village of Krasna Dolina. Therese von Falberg is Mother Superior of the Sisters of Magdalene, whose Convent is housed in Montebello Castle and also the Chatelaine of the Castle whilst the reigning Count Egerhazy and his family have fled to America at the first rumblings of war. When Captain Prince Franz Mefist of the Imperial Army turns up to establish his Army base at the Castle, he matter-of-factly informs Therese he will need a dozen of her nuns to entertain his officers in the Officers Club. At her shocked refusal, he orders some village women to be found for the purpose. Therese soon realises that, to save the wives and daughters of the village, she will have to agree to become the Madam of the nuns' bordello. Mefist's cousin Wanda turns up to help the nuns become courtesans and the girls are happy to follow orders. But as a nun, Therese finds her growing attraction to Mefist and her curiosity about sex disturbing.
I have always enjoyed sexy romance and erotica, but what drew me to this novel was the plot. At first I was unsure about nuns in the 40s being so uninhibited, then I decided that with their vow of obedience to their Mother Superior and Franz's and Wanda's charisma and after all, it's the war, I could accept that and sit back and enjoy the story. Certainly, none of the nuns who taught me were like these: I guess I was taught by Sister Brigitte clones. I remain intrigued at where Therese drew the line on her own personal acceptable behaviour. This story has plenty of humour and romance and some very hot sex in different flavours. The backstory of the war goings-on give the plot realism and some lighter relief between the hotter scenes. The characters had some depth and novel asks some ethical questions about life during wartime. I would have liked a bit more of Therese and Mefist at the end. The name of the sisters' order was a cute touch, considering the profession of Mary Magdalene. I enjoyed this novel and I think it would translate well into an adult movie.
